Polyresin and Polyceramic are closely related products with many of the same properties, based on polyethylene. Polyresin and Polyceramic are a combination of resins and fillers that can be poured into moulds. You then wait for the mixture to set, remove it from the mould and apply a finish. Unlike clay, polyceramic items do not need to be fired. Also, the product is much lighter, although it is possible to weight the product to make it feel more authentic. Popular finishes include limestone, bronze effect, sandstone, and aged steel. The unique surface provides the look and feel of ceramic but... since they're made of strong, durable polyethylene there's no worry of breakage, chipping or cracking. This product has been in use for over 30 years, is not only tough, but has many applications that range from prosthetic orthodontics, to toilet seats, to planters pots... For more creative use, sculptors have the ability to create great looking products, such as our Hawaiian lamps and figurines. Then, artists paint the Polyresin in amazing detail.
