' Mermaid Crossing '

My Uncle Barney—may he rest in peace—was a sailor. As kids, we always listened with burning ears to his travel tales, ever waxing more lyrical about this pod of mermaids crossing his ship en route from the south point of Guadaloupe to Tiki Island near Mer d'Pyrenee. They were French-speaking mermaids and had certain other French skills he was somewhat vague about. Then, one time he did not return, and we were told that he had started a colony of his own in the harbor of Copenhagen. Apparently, after spawning the rocks with offspring, he was last seen swimming off into the sunset with this young mermaid from the Bermuda Triangle. This sign reminds me of Uncle Barney. We're making it available as a tribute to his mating call.
